The visual artist and art historian Helene van 't Hoen (Rotterdam, 1965), moves in several disciplines. Helene primarily creates and exhibits spatially autonomous works in the Netherlands and abroad, and works on commission for businesses, government and private individuals. Her work consists of objects and designs for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
From her studio in Leidschendam or directly on location, Helene challenges ordinary human taboos, superficiality and clichés, which through her original work take on form and content. She carries out her creations with disparate, and often uncommon materials. Helene regularly works with other artists, which greatly expands her creative horizon in terms of choice of materials and techniques.
